Asaro or Yam pottage is a very hearty meal and is such a comfort food that is very simple and easy to make 💃💃💃. One of the best things about it, is that it is a one pot meal and it requires no skill at all to get it right! Just toss in everything into the pot, mash and voila!
The best thing about this meal is that you can jazz it up with vegetables, fish, crayfish and anything you fancy. If you have Yam, Oil and pepper 🌶 get to cooking!
This recipe also works with sweet potatoes and unripe Plantain.
To make this “healthier” you can skip the oil, use less yam and bulk up with tons of veggies. You can even substitute the Yam for Courgettes (Marrow; Zucchini) and reduce the cooking time to 10 minutes or less.
